The Manufacturers’ Responsibility Undertaking — a brainchild of the National Association of Manufacturers — is launching the social-media blitz to spotlight what it called Hizzoner’s “politically motivated” attacks on manufacturers.
“Mayor de Blasio’s attack on manufacturers is solely the most recent example of the mayor taking his marching orders from deep-pocketed activist foundations and trial legal professionals looking for a large payday at the backs of taxpayers,” said Linda Kelly, senior vp and normal recommend of the Nationwide Affiliation of Manufacturers.
De Blasio introduced closing month that the city had filed a lawsuit against BP, Chevron, Conoco-Phillips, ExxonMobil and Royal Dutch Shell, claiming their fossil fuels produce 11 percent of the Earth’s world-warming gases.
The suit “seeks to shift the costs of protecting the town from local weather-amendment impacts again onto the companies that experience done nearly all they could to create this existential threat.”
City Hall spokesman Eric Phillips slammed the new marketing campaign.
“Shadowy groups funded via Massive Oil received’t stay the mayor from preventing for our planet and town’s future,” he stated.
